Laura  Morris, MT, (ASCP), CIC is currently the Education Coordinator at the Special Pathogens Laboratory  in  Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Laura previously worked as the Senior Infection Preventionist at St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh and as an Infection Preventionist at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare system prior to her current position .  Laura also has experience working  as a microbiology technologist at Allegheny General Hospital and as a research assistant  at the VA Research Foundation.

Laura has a B.S. in Medical Technology from Indiana University of Pennsylavania.  She obtained her Certification in Infection Control in 2009.

Laura has co-authored several abstracts presented at national meetings. Laura  previously served as the APIC Three Rivers Pittsburgh Annual Fall Conference Co- Chair  ,  Marketing Chair, and Nominating Chair . She currently serves as a Education Chair/Program Planning co-chair and website coordinator for the APIC Three Rivers Pittsburgh Chapter.
