Jenny Bender is an infection control practitioner specializing in infection prevention in the behavioral health setting and environmental infection prevention. She has eight years of experience as a nurse, and four years of experience as an IP. Jenny has a BA in General Sciences from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, a BSN from Creighton University, and an MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh. She is also certified in Infection Control (CIC©), certified in Public Health (CPH), and holds certifications in LGBT Individuals’ Health and Wellness from the University of Pittsburgh and in HIV testing and counseling from the state of Pennsylvania. Jenny serves her local APIC chapter, Three Rivers, as both their treasurer and a member of the fall conference committee. She has given numerous regional and national talks on infection prevention. She also enjoys community service and volunteer work, especially when it relates to public health or health literacy.
